Fall Novice Wrestling Officials Class

Information for the Cincinnati Novice Official for the 2017 - 2018 Season

The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has mandated that all new officials must complete a 27 hour Adult Education Program in order to qualify to take the National Federation of High Schools (NFSH) and Ohio Wrestling Officials Association (OWOA) Mechanics tests to become a High School Wrestling Official.  You MUST attend at least eight of the nine classes and be present within 20 minutes of the starting time of each class.  You must also pay a Class Fee of $110 when your register for the Adult Education Program.  You may not take any class materials home without paying the registration fee, this is a GCWOA regulation.  The total cost will be $110 payable to the OHSAA via credit card, debit card or electronic check. This class will be conducted only by Instructors which are OHSAA Certified and will include class content written and approved by the OHSAA &  OWOA.  You MUST visit http://officials.myohsaa.org at least one week prior to the first class.  (Please Note: This web site is optimized for Google Chrome)  All registration information entered will be automatically be entered into the OHSAA database.  Your information will then be updated on the myohsaa web site in late spring or early summer.

The testing will be conducted online via the http://officials.myohsaa.org web site after classes are concluded.  After our last class the instructors will "release" the tests for each qualifying student. You will have one week to take the test.  Once you start the tests you will have 24 hours to complete them.

In addition, you will need to fill out a GCWOA Registration Form and bring it to the first class.  This information will be used for the roster on our web site.

(Please note:  If you are a High School Student, at least 14 years of age, you can take the class, and obtain a Class 3 Officiating Permit after passing the Tests.  Please inform the Instructors at the first class you attend if this is the case.)

This year the classes will begin on October 2, 2017.  Registration and payment must be completed on-line by September 25, 2017.
