Fall Novice Wrestling Officials Class
Information for the Cincinnati Novice Official for the 2019 - 2020 Season
The Ohio High School Athletic Association (OHSAA) has mandated that all new officials must complete a 27 hour Adult Education Program in order to qualify to take the OHSAA Knowledge, National Federation of High Schools (NFSH) Rules and Ohio Wrestling Officials Association (OWOA) Mechanics tests to become a High School Wrestling Official. You MUST attend at least eight of the nine classes and be present within 20 minutes of the starting time of each class. You must also pay the Class Fee when your register for the Adult Education Program. The total cost will be $110 payable to the OHSAA via credit card, debit card or electronic check. These classes will be conducted only by Instructors who are OHSAA Certified and will include class content written and approved by the OHSAA & OWOA. You MUST visit the following web site https://officials.myohsaa.org at least one week prior to the first class. (Please Note: This web site is optimized for Google Chrome.) All registration information you enter will be automatically entered into the OHSAA database.
The testing will be conducted online via the MyOHSAA web site after classes are concluded. After our last class the instructor will "release" the tests for each qualifying student. You will have one week to take the tests. Once you start any test you will have 24 hours to complete it.
In addition, you will need to fill out a GCWOA Registration Form and bring it to the first class. (The registration form can be found on our web site: http://gcwoa.org.) This information will be used to add your information to the roster on our web site.
Please note: If you are a High School Student, at least 14 years of age, you can take the class, and obtain a Class 3 Officiating Permit after passing the Tests. Please inform the Instructors at the first class if this is the case.
